Delhi: A 53-year-old fashion designer Mala Lakhani and her 50-year-old servant Bahadur were murdered at her house in Vasant Kunj, Delhi on Wednesday night. Three people were arrested and have confessed to the crime.
At around 3 am on Thursday, neighbours of Mala Lakhani noticed something suspicious and called the police. Police rushed to the spot and searched the house, where they found a woman, Mala Lakhani, dead in her bedroom. And her servant body was found in the living room. Both of them were stabbed with knives and blood was pooled around them.
The main accused, Rahul Anwar confessed to the crime and have been arrested with two others. The police said that Rahul worked as a master tailor for the fashion designer Mala Lakhani at her workshop.
The incident took place between 10pm-12am and robbery was the motive behind the murder, said police. Rahul confessed that he and his colleagues had gone to Mala’s house on the pretext of showing her piece of cloth and stabbed her with the knives they bought some days ago. Her servant, Bahadur, came to help her but they killed him too.
Both the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
